US convergence project on terrorism

cyberjopurnalist.net reveals that " PBS' "FRONTLINE," the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, The New York Times and a U.C. Berkeley journalism class recently produced an extensive cross-platform investigation into "the threat radical jihadists pose to Western Europe and its allies -- including the United States." The "FRONTLINE" Web site includes a teacher's guide, and interactive map transcripts of the interviews, including parts that weren't aired. "This is one in a series of award-winning "FRONTLINE" documentaries that have been the product of cooperation between print, online and television journalists," says Poynter's Al Tompkins. "It is a prime example of what many who touted 'convergence journalism' hoped might happen -- journalism that leverages the strengths of each media to tell a more complete story than any one media could tell on its own.
