Turkey - USA: Zaman launches daily edition in US

Zaman is the fourth daily newspaper in Turkey, defines itself as "conservative" - in Europe, some would say "Islamic" and in America "Islamist" - and the newspaper supports the current Turkisk government in main occasions. Interestingly, he is the first Turkish daily to launch a special American edition: "Zaman USA has been a weekly publication for the last ten years, but has now launched a daily edition. The new daily newspaper will become available as of November 3rd and will include pages in English and Turkish. Zaman's representative in the US, Idris Gursoy, said last night, Zaman were proud to be the first Turkish newspaper printed in the US. He said that with the English pages, Turkish society will be better introduced to America and said Zaman will represent the Turkish press in the best possible way."
