Tampa Tribune names Poynter faculty dean as managing editor

Janet Weaver, the dean of faculty of The Poynter Institute, was named Monday as The Tampa Tribune's managing editor. She was the executive editor of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune before leaving for the nonprofit journalism school in November. Weaver said she enjoyed her work at Poynter, but missed being in the newsroom."
