Posted by Liam Berkowitz on June 2, 2008 at 10:07 AM
U.S. newspaper websites are growing in popularity, a Nielsen Online study suggests. Compared to results from an identical study from April 2007, only seven of the top 30 newspaper websites experienced declines in traffic while several others grew significantly.
Three of the top five sites - NYtimes.com, LAtimes.com, and the Wall Street Journal Online - increased traffic over 30 percent. The Dallas Morning News' site, DallasNews.com, grew the most, increasing its traffic by 88 percent.
Other big winners include OregonLive.com (The Oregonian, 63 percent), ajc.com (The Atlanta Journal Constitution, 52 percent), and BaltimoreSun.com (The Baltimore Sun, 38 percent).
