An open challenge to NY Newspapers from Interespone.com
New York print media have been challenged to market a local business for $500 by Interesponse.com, a search engine marketing company specializing in local business. The idea is for each advertising medium, print or Interesponse.com, to put up an advertisement for $500 and find out which is better.
Brandon Hoffman, director of Internet marketing for Interesponse.com claims: “…we are challenging local media to pick any advertiser and run $500 worth of print ads in your newspaper. We will advertise that same advertiser on our $499 per month program and at least double the results.”
Hoffman adds: "We have a lot of confidence in our local search marketing programs. So much so that we are willing to offer the first 100 advertisers that are currently running ads in The New York Times, New York Daily News, New York Post, Pennysaver, Clipper Magazine or any other local print medium a risk-free, one month trial of our program. We will guarantee you better results than what you are getting with local print media or you will not pay."
This is quite a bold and interesting claim. One that advertisers may pay attention to should any of the local print media take Interesponse.com up on the challenge. If this will happen is anyone’s guess.
It is also worth noting that the New York Times, New York Daily News, and the New York Post all offer online, as well as print, advertising.
Another interesting challenge might be to put an ad on one of these newspaper’s websites and one on Interesponse.com and see which is more effective.
