The prestigious World Economic Forum has taken a new interest in the media industry. This year the group is considering creating a new sub-committee, the International Media Council, to discuss the changes and future of the media industry.  Plans are tentatively in the works to invite media’s elite to the January 2007 meeting.  Many media leaders from print, internet, and television are on the list including, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, MySpace co-founder Tom Anderson, CBS news anchor Katie Couric, and New York Times publisher Arthur O. Sulzberger Jr.
