Syria: new privately –owned political daily

Waddah Abed Rabbo recently launched a new daily titled Al Watan, or “The Homeland”, and is owned by. “We do not belong to any movement, we do not express the points of view of any party,” declared Rabbo, who added that Al Waddah was the first newspaper of its kind to be published in Syria in the last 40 years.
Abed Rabbo also publishes the economic daily AL Iqtissadiya, or “The Economic”, and the weekly Abiad wa Asswad, or “White and Black”.
