Daily Mail Irish edition to start newspaper price war

Posted by Dominique Lewis Tuohy on January 30, 2006 at 11:42 AM

Associated Newspapers, publishers of The Daily Mail, which is to launch an Irish edition next week (see previous posting), plan to start a price war with Independent News and Media, publisher of the largest circualted Irish paper The Irish Independent (164 000 copies).

The Irish Independent has a cover price of Euro 1.6O. Associated Newspapers plans to sell The Daily Mail Irish edition for 75 Euro cents and may even distribute the paper for free on its launch day. The paper would be the cheapest daily newspaper in Ireland were it to be sold for this price.

A 1 million Euro advertising campaign is planned to promote the paper, 100 000 copies of which will be printed daily. The aim of the publishers is to build upon the 10 000 copies of the English edition of The Mail already sold in the country daily, and reach a circulaton of 45 000 or more copies by the end of 2006.

Re/ Dolls House & Furniture Promotion.

I sent two cheques and enough coupons to cover the dolls house and furniture on 12/09/2006 and I have not received any notification yet as to whether or not I will have the house and furniture for my daughter from Santa Claus. Is there somebody I can ring to enquire about same.
Thanks. Fiona Duffin, Kilhile, Arthurstown, New Ross, Co. Wexford.

Sir, As per the Daily Mail Promotion, for the Victorian Doll`s House:-
On the 21st,June,2006, I sent a cheque to register for a Doll`s house.

On the 23rd,June,2006,I sent a second check to register for a further three doll`s houses. Making that four in total.

On the 27th, July, I sent a cheque, and order, for four sets of doll`s house furniture, to complement the doll`s houses ordered.

All the cheques have been redeemed.

I have received the four sets of furniture, no problem, and three doll`s houses,(Pink Fronted colour), and I wish to thank, who ever it concerns, for the speedy and efficient manner in which they dealt with my order. However, I am still awaiting the delivery of one doll`s house,( Blue fronted Colour). It may be that this is in the pipeline, but could you furnish me with a contact `e` mail address, in order that I may confirm the situation, one way or another. Thanking you in advance,I remain Yours Faithfully. J. Nichol,58, Benson Crescent, Doddington Park, LINCOLN. LN6 3NU.

Dear Irish Mail,

I sent payment for post and packaging for 2 sets of Magic and Fantasy DVD collection, to be sent to Marie Cronin, Tullymurrihy, Ballinascarthy, Clonakilty, Co.Cork. And to Barbara Shorten, 8 Church Avenue, Cathedral Road, Cork and have recieved nothing. I sent payment the day the offer closed, I dont understand the delay and I have phoned the office and they said there was a delay but said it was fine now when I try to ring the phone is out of service. My daughter is very excited about some of the movies and I want to know what is going on.

Marie.

I ordered 2 sets of Magic and Fantasy DVD collection, I sent post and packing and tokens x 2. After 2 weeks passed I called and asked for a delivery date, I was told there was a big demand and I would indeed get my 2 collections. After so many weeks I now have my small girl asking where her new DVD's are, well thats a good question love, where indeed?
